Sally is right at 6 months old and was saved by one of our amazing supporters from running through traffic on the highway! She has just started veterinary care and will be available for adoption once she has her next booster shot and her spay surgery! She is heartworm negative, and on prevention. As with all of our babies, she will be microchipped - we don't want to risk her ever being separated from her home, again!!
We guess-timate Sally to be a Catahoula and German Shepherd Mix puppy. She weighed 35.2 pounds at her first vet appointment and was a tad too thin. But even by those numbers, online puppy weight calculators predict she will be 70+ pounds when full grown.
In addition to parasite prevention (heartworm, flea, tick, intestinal worm, etc) Sally will need to be maintained on a specific medication for her hips, as it's suspected she may possibly have early onset of hip dysplasia.
