LUCKYThis sweet fella was forcibly confiscated along with his brother for the sake of being shot point-blank by local law enforcement in August 2022. After the officers believed the dogs to be dead, they left their bodies at a local water treatment facility. However, their plan was thwarted - as Lucky didn't die. It took Lucky 9 days to make it back to his former home - only 1/3 of a mile away.
When his former owner realized what had happened, she began calling various places to find help. When she reached the team at Circle L, we knew we had to do whatever possible to help this sweet boy! Lucky has undergone one surgery so far, to remove fragmented bullet pieces from his face. As you can see from the images below, there are considerable amounts of metal pieces in this baby's head and face. He has lost most of the vision in his right eye, as well as a considerable amount of his hearing in his right ear. He will need multiple surgeries to continue removing the metal fragments. At this time, Lucky is not available for adoption - as he is considered evidence in pending litigation. However, feel free to submit an adoption application to be considered once he does become available! As with all of our animals, Lucky is neutered, up-to-date on all proper shots, current on all parasite prevention, and microchipped. |
